Ifigenia Georgiadou is the Director of the Hellenic Culture Centre, www.hcc.edu.gr and te Director of Studies at the AEOLIS Cultural Development Society of Lesvos Island www.aeolis.edu.gr .
Giota Marre is a graduate of the University of Athens (Faculty of Letters, Dept. of Modern Greek and Byzantine Literature). She has a Diploma in Classical Studies of the University of Thessaloniki.
Giota Bouziou is a graduate of the University of Athens (Faculty of Philosophy). She has an MA in "Education and Human Rights" (University of Athens and University of London).
Σπούδασε Ιστορία και Αρχαιoλογία στην Αθήνα, «Εκπαίδευση και Ανθρώπινα Δικαιώματα» (ΜΑ) στην Αθήνα και στο Πανεπιστήμιο του Λονδίνου και Πολιτισμική Τεχνολογία (ΜΑ) στο Πανεπιστήμιο Αιγαίου.
Απόφοιτος του τμήματος Φιλοσοφικής-Παιδαγωγικής-Ψυχολογίας του Πανεπιστημίου Αθηνών με ειδίκευση Φιλοσοφίας. Παρακολούθησε επιμορφωτικά σεμινάρια εξειδίκευσης καθηγητών στην αντιμετώπιση και αποκατάσταση μαθησιακών δυσκολιών παιδιών κι εφήβων καθώς και στη διδασκαλία της ελληνικής ως ξένης/δεύτερης γλώσσας.
The Hellenic Culture Centre is based in Athens, where it has its offices, while the school is located in its branch in Santorini Island, in Megalochori village, 10 km away from Fira, the capital. The Centre in Santorini houses three classrooms, a library and a video/ CD library (books and videos, as well as a variety of Greek music CDs, Greek movies and documentary films). Books on the instruction of Greek as a foreign/second language, on Adult Education and on Intercultural Education as well as on Greek history, the arts and culture are all at the disposal of the students. Students can use the computers connected to the Internet at no extra charge and borrow a CD player in order to practise listening comprehension outside the classroom.
The Centre and its associates co-operate with other organizations in Greece and abroad for the mutual development of the educational work. More specifically they:
Have planned the programme of studies and part of the educational materials for non profit organizations which offer greek courses to immigrants and refugees (Sunday School for Immigrants, Voluntary Work of Athens, ARSIS)
Are the scientific officer(s) for the programme "Teaching Greek to Immigrants, Refugees and Repatriots" in Vocational Training Centres
Are the scientific officer(s) for the Training of Adult Educators Programme in Vocational Training Centres
Have undertaken the training of Greek language teachers in different institutions (Greek Council for Refugees, Development Agency of Chios, etc)
Have participated in group work for the writing of the teaching manuals "The Greek Language in A' Class of Secondary School" of the Programme of Education for Muslim Children, Ministry of National Education-University of Athens
Έχουν οργανώσει το πρόγραμμα σπουδών, την εκπαίδευση των καθηγητών και μέρος των διδακτικών υλικών μη κερδοσκοπικών φορέων που προσφέρουν μαθήματα ελληνικών σε πρόσφυγες και μετανάστες (Εθελοντική Εργασία Αθήνας, Κυριακάτικο Σχολείο Μεταναστών, ΑΡΣΙΣ - Κοινωνική Οργάνωση Υποστήριξης Νέων, www.arsis.gr, Ελληνικό Συμβούλιο για τους Πρόσφυγες) με σκοπό τη στήριξη των εθελοντών εκπαιδευτικών στο έργο τους

Έχουν συμμετάσχει σε ομάδα εργασίας για τη συγγραφή των διδακτικών εγχειριδίων «Η νεοελληνική γλώσσα για την Α' Γυμνασίου» του προγράμματος Εκπαίδευσης Μουσουλμανοπαίδων, ΥΠΕΠΘ-Πανεπιστήμιο Αθηνών, με επιστημονική υπεύθυνη την καθ. Άννα Φραγκουδάκη

Συνεργάζονται στενά με τη Μη Κερδοσκοπική Εταιρεία ΩΣΜΩΣΗ-Κέντρο Τεχνών και Διαπολιτισμικής Αγωγής, www.osmosis-intercultural.gr , η οποία έχει ως στόχο να προωθήσει την έννοια και την πρακτική της διαπολιτισμικότητας, της διαφορετικότητας, των ανθρωπίνων δικαιωμάτων, της κοινωνικής ένταξης και της ειρήνης στο εκπαιδευτικό σύστημα και να συμβάλει στην ευαισθητοποίηση απέναντι στα στερεότυπα και στις προκαταλήψεις

Έχουν οργανώσει σεμινάρια για τη Δυναμική της Ομάδας στο Κέντρο «Φωλιά» της Ελευσίνας, το οποίο υποστηρίζει μη προνομιούχους νέους της περιοχής
Κέντρο Έρευνας και Δράσης για την Ειρήνη
Έχουν μακροχρόνια συνεργασία με το Κέντρο Έρευνας και Δράσης για την Ειρήνη και με την WINPEACE - Women's Initiative for Peace, Ειρηνευτική Πρωτοβουλία Γυναικών Ελλάδας-Τουρκίας, www.winpeace.net συμμετέχοντας ως εκπαιδευτές στις Κατασκηνώσεις Νέων (Anatolia College, Θεσσαλονίκη) για την Πολυπολιτισμική Εκπαίδευση και στο Πρόγραμμα Εκπαίδευσης Εκπαιδευτικών για την Ειρήνη. Στο πλαίσιο αυτό υλοποιήθηκε σεμινάριο για Εκπαιδευτικούς στις 5-6-7 Μαΐου 2006 στην Αθήνα.
AGROTOUR
Στον τομέα του εναλλακτικού (εκπαιδευτικού και πολιτιστικού ) τουρισμού έχουν συνεργαστεί με την Ανώνυμη εταιρεία Δημοσίου Συμφέροντος Αγροτουριστική Α.Ε. www.agrotour.gr , στην εκπαίδευση εκπαιδευτών και στη διενέργεια εκπαιδευτικών σεμιναρίων.
Escuela Oficialde Idiomas
Το Κρατικό Σχολείο Γλωσσών της Ισπανίας Escuela Oficialde Idiomas αποτελεί σταθερό εταίρο του Κέντρου σε προγράμματα εκπαίδευσης καθηγητών στη διδακτική της ελληνικής ως ξένης γλώσσας.
The Hellenic Culture Centre is an institution specialized in organizing Greek language courses for non native speakers, cultural tourism programmes and teacher training programmes for language teachers. It was founded in 1995 and since then it has carried out its programmes in Athens, where it is based, in Santorini island, and in selected venues throughout Greece and abroad.
The Centre΄s work includes research activities on teaching and learning Greek as second / foreign language, development of original didactic materials, book publishing (Kaleidoskopio series www.learn-greek-kaleidoskopio.com) and e-learning Greek:
Greek Language Programme: - Specially designed Modern Greek language courses which cover the educational needs of all categories of foreign adult students (interpreters/translators, teachers and students of ancient and modern Greek, migrants, different professionals, tourists, philhellenes, etc)
Greek Culture Programme: - Programme of complementary activities for Greek language students with cultural and intercultural content (conversation classes, lectures, presentations on History, Arts, Society, dance and song courses, etc)
Teacher Training Programme: - Training Seminars in Teaching Greek as a Foreign/Second Language - Intercultural Education Seminars for language teachers and other educators - Adult Education Seminars for educators that work in this domain
As a complement to the organization of the language courses and the seminars, the Centre undertakes: - research in issues of educational needs, material, teaching methods, etc. - production of educational materials and methods of long-distance learning - planning of programmes, curricula and educational services to other organizations (Vocational Training Centres, Non Governmental Organizations, private educational institutes) - conferences/ meetings/ events for the promotion of Greek language and the dissemination of knowledge in language teaching methods, in Intercultural Education and in Adult Education
To accomplish of its aims, the Hellenic Culture Centre - Ifigenia Georgiadou co-operates at a local, national and international level with:
- institutes of formal education (schools, universities, educators΄ associations, etc) - institutes of informal and life-long learning education (Adult Education Centres, Second Chance Schools, Vocational Training Centres, etc) - Non Governmental Organizations - public organizations and institutions (ministries, local authorities, Hellenic Tourist Organization, and others) - mass media - educational networks which undertake similar actions.
